Updated Process for Microchip Implanter Applications
The application process for veterinarians applying for an Authorised Implanter Number (AIN) in Victoria is being moved to Agriculture Victoria’s online services portal, Agriculture Victoria Connect.
A veterinarian who already has an AIN will not need to re-apply as the details will be migrated to Agriculture Victoria Connect as part of the transition.
From November 2025, veterinarians who wish to obtain an AIN will be required to create a profile in Agriculture Victoria Connect. Their profile will allow them to manage and update their personal and professional information, ensuring records remain accurate.
To ensure you receive future updates, make sure your email address is correct in the current authorised implanter database. If your details have changed, please update them as soon as possible, by sending an email to pet.welfare@agriculture.vic.gov.au.
Please share this information with your colleagues who are authorised implanters.
