This award recognises the outstanding contributions and commitment of veterinary students to conservation biology during their undergraduate studies.

BACKGROUND TO THE AWARD
Australian Veterinary Conservation Biology (AVCB) Student Award, recognises a veterinary student's contribution and commitment to conservation biology during their undergraduate years. The nominee(s) will need to prepare a brief resume of not more than 500 words outlining their work and interests as a veterinary student, highlighting their activities and achievements relating to conservation biology. The committee will use this information to select the successful nominee and give public notice of their award.
AWARD INCLUSIONS
One x FREE AVCB Stream registration plus a ticket to the Gala Dinner at the ASAV Annual Conference.
$500 stipend for contribution to travel and accommodation expenses to attend the AVCB Stream at the ASAV Annual Conference.
The awardee will receive a certificate, and their name entered on a roll maintained to document the award. The certificate would be presented at the AVCB stream at the ASAV conference or other appropriate occasion. Communication will be via AVA News article or AVCB Newsletter as appropriate.
AWARD ELIGIBILITY
The prize is open to current BVSc Students.
Applicants should ideally demonstrate involvement in and commitment to Conservation Biology.
Applicants may provide examples of specific involvement and use supporting references where available.
Applicants should demonstrate an intention to develop career opportunities in the veterinary profession and may provide examples of proposed or completed work experience gained.
An eligible applicant may be nominated by another colleague and/or self-nominate.
Please provide your written submission addressing the criteria above together with your resume and a letter of recommendation from an academic staff member who is engaged within the wildlife area either in teaching or research.
