AVA members contribute in many capacities to the Association, including service to our Board, Group committees and working groups, and representing the AVA in external working groups and the local community.

Every contribution is valued and supports our goal to provide a united voice for the veterinary profession.

Some members offer such a remarkable contribution that awarding them a Fellow of the Australian Veterinary Association is entirely appropriate.

With a limit to the number of active Fellowship places available, a Fellow is deserved recognition for the dedication and service given by these members to their peers.

Recent recipients include Dr William Howey OAM, Dr Ken Jacobs, Dr Patricia Ellis, Dr David Middleton and Dr Nick Kannegieter – all esteemed leaders in their respective fields and tireless contributors to the AVA.

Veterinarians who are bestowed the status of Fellow may use the postnominals FAVA (Fellow of the Australian Veterinary Association).
