Presenter(s)

Dr Karen Kam
Karen graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016. Having two anxious rescue dogs herself, her passion for becoming an advocate of animal mental health and welfare grew. While working in general practices, she completed the Behavioural Medicine course through CVE and later became a Member of ANZCVS in the Veterinary Behaviour Chapter. In March 2022, Karen began a residency program through the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists and the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine under the mentorship of Dr Sagi Denenberg from Toronto. Karen started a mobile veterinary behaviour practice, Brisbane Behaviour Vet, in 2021 with the goal of increasing awareness of mental health in pets and helping families navigate the challenges of living with a pet with behavioural problems.
