Expression of interest for AVA-nominated representative to Veterinary Schools Accreditation Advisory Committee (VSAAC)

The AVA is seeking expressions of interest from members wishing to serve on the VSAAC, a committee of the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council. The term for the appointment is three years. If you are interested, please provide a statement outlining why they wish to serve and what skills you will bring to the role (max. 500 words), a CV and a declaration of interest (if any). EOI should be sent to Peta Bortfield (peta.bortfield@ava.com.au) by Monday 24 April 2023. The AVA Board will make a final decision.
Details of the role, as supplied by the AVBC are:
- VSAAC meets routinely twice a year. One is a two-day face-to- face meeting (usually in Melbourne), in April; the other a half-day meeting (via Zoom) in September. VSAAC does have occasional (Zoom) meetings out-of-session two to three times per year) that may be one to two hours’ duration. These meetings all involve commensurate pre-reading and preparation.
- VSAAC members’ travel and accommodation expenses associated with the April meeting are met by AVBC. Members are also entitled to a small annual honorarium. In the event that a VSAAC member attends a university-funded site visit or contributes to an externally funded consultancy, a daily rate is payable.
