Highlighting AVA Member Benefits – personalised member support

It’s approaching EOFY and now is the time to renew your AVA membership for 2023-2024 if you haven't done so already. This week we’d like to highlight one of the more personal AVA member benefits.

The AVA Member Services team are the “front line” of the AVA. When you call us, whether that be with questions about your membership, CPD, event registration or navigating the website – or just expressing concerns on a particular issue – it will most likely be the Member Services team that will pick up your query. You can be assured you are speaking with another human being who will handle your concerns and questions with utmost care.

During times of crisis – such as the 2022 Floods Crisis – the Member Services team also performs outreach, calling AVA members who might be experiencing hardship and offering moral and practical support.

Some of the types of queries they receive include:

• accessing HR resources
• questions about the counselling line
• referrals to resources on specific workplace situations
• answering queries about your Membership status and entitlements including renewals
• investigating payment queries
• responding to CPD queries
• how to access member benefits including updates and news
• routing queries about legislation and rules to the appropriate contact in the AVA
• log-in queries and technical assistance
• assistance with registration for conferences and events, as well as providing help with logistics
• advertising and job vacancy queries, locum lists etc
• and many, many more!

The team brings a host of different skills to the AVA, with team members coming from a variety of backgrounds including business administration, tourism and hospitality, veterinary nursing andallied health sciences. Plus, they’re all animal lovers and passionate about supporting vets and the veterinary profession.

As a member, they are here to support you. This is just one of many personalised benefits available to members of the AVA.
