Swans Veterinary Services celebrates achieving Employer of Choice Accreditation
21 Oct 2022
Swans Veterinary Services, located in Esperance, WA, recently had the chance to celebrate achieving Employer of Choice (EOC) Accreditation.
"We had a taco night in our horse barn," says owner and principal vet Dr Nicole Swan. "Partners and kids [were] everywhere, and lots of laughs." They called the celebration night 'Let’s Taco ‘bout it night'!

The EOC program has proven to be a great success, with five practices (comprised of 15 individual branch clinics) attaining EOC Accreditation to date. Feedback has been extremely positive, with Swans Vet Services saying it gave staff “a feeling of pride and team spirit.” Other practices have commented that the EOC program has been "incredibly rewarding" (Ballarat Veterinary Practice) and is "of benefit to your business, your staff and your clients" (Fletcher Veterinary Practice). Dr Alistair Graham-Evans, owner and principal vet of Western Suburbs Veterinary Clinic says that the EOC program will "improve your management skills and make it easier in the future."
The AVA Employer of Choice (EOC) program is designed for veterinary businesses as a way of maximising employee recruitment, engagement and retention. The program is intended as a pathway towards achieving AVA Employer of Choice Accreditation.
