The start of 2023 brought in a hearty return of students at each veterinary school, with the Australian Veterinary Student Group (AVSG) being involved on site at each campus during their orientation period.
From late January to early March, students were introduced to the AVA’s mission to support the profession during their Final Year Transition to Practice talks and Orientation Week introductions.

AVA staff and local members shared their experiences in being involved in the broad spectrum of the veterinary world, while also having time to run various promotions (courtesy of our AVSG committee!). As a result of the outreach 530 students registered to support the AVA!

I would like to personally thank the staff and administration at each of the vet schools for inviting the AVA to be involved, the AVA staff and members who volunteered their time, the AVSG committee for arranging the events, and of course all the veterinary students who participated throughout. We look forward to seeing as many students involved with future AVA activities and meeting the wonderful members who support them.
