ACT Health Directorate Regulatory Accountability Framework

07 Mar 2024

The ACT Health Directorate is developing a Regulatory Accountability Framework to guide improvements to its regulatory services and public health outcomes over time. The aim of the framework is to incorporate best-practice regulatory principles into systems, processes and culture to better position the Directorate as a transparent and effective regulator.

The framework will outline the Directorate’s vision for public health regulation and a set of principles to guide regulatory decision making and program delivery. The AVA ACT Division Committee were consulted on the draft framework. Additionally, AVA representatives Dr. Michael Hayward and Dr. John Apsley-Davis attended a workshop on the draft Regulatory Accountability Framework.

The ACT Division’s response to a request for comment on the draft Framework is available here.
