AVA advocacy continues in the ACT

With the recent ACT elections bringing back the current government, the AVA is set to reinforce its advocacy initiatives within the territory. The AVA will build upon the relationships and dialogue established leading up to the election, ensuring that veterinary professionals have a strong, continued voice on key issues impacting the sector. Our pre-election priorities, addressing the most urgent matters - including support for graduate training, workforce shortages, and animal welfare standards—will continue to drive our discussions with returning officials. 

As always, we are committed to representing the interests of our members, advocating for improved support and recognition for veterinarians, and ensuring the voice of the profession remains influential in legislative matters affecting both animals and professionals. We look forward to collaborating with the ACT Government to deliver impactful outcomes for the veterinary community.
