New AVA partnership with VetPrac offers discounted workshops to AVA members
20 Nov 2025The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) is proud to announce a new partnership with VetPrac, naming them as an official AVA Education Partner. This collaboration will see AVA members enjoy a 10% discount on all VetPrac workshops, enhancing professional skills in an accessible, team-focused environment.
AVA Chief Executive Melissa King welcomed the new partnership with VetPrac, noting that the AVA is committed to connecting members with the best learning opportunities available.
“Partnering with a trusted education provider strengthens the value we deliver to our members. VetPrac workshops offer in-demand, practical training for all members of the profession across both metropolitan and regional Australia.”
Dr Margie McEwen, VetPrac Director, expressed her enthusiasm about the new partnership.
“It's something that really makes me smile. I'm passionate about getting education out to people in the best and most equitable way possible,” she said.
“This is about providing AVA members with a valuable discount, so they can easily access the education they are passionate about. We have a big repertoire, so I'm hopeful that there's something for everyone."
AVA members will receive a 10% discount on a variety of VetPrac workshops throughout 2026. The first to open for registration is the “Grafts, Flaps and Complex Wounds Workshop,” taking place at the University of Queensland Gatton Campus from 18–19 April 2026. This workshop offers hands-on training in wound management and includes a dedicated Nurse & Tech Stream, promoting team-based learning. Participants will benefit from direct surgical tuition and a supportive one-to-eight educator-to-attendee ratio.
"It's a dual stream, so not only is it crafted for veterinarians, but for nurses and techs.
“The lead educator for this workshop is Dr Arthur House, a highly skilled and knowledgeable clinician. He is an experienced and generous educator, and his relaxed teaching style creates an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all participants.”
“This is a hands-on, practical workshop, and people will have the opportunity to engage with relevant skills and a great experience."
AVA members can access their exclusive discounted workshop registration links as they are released throughout the year, via the AVA’s fortnightly Veterinary Education newsletter, ASAV newsletter communications and AVA social media channels. Please note this is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
