NSW Division President's Report - September 2024

As the weather warms up, so too do the discussions around the Report released by the Inquiry Committee into the Veterinary Workforce Shortage in NSW. The AVA has been working hard to determine alignment and prioritisation of the report’s recommendations, and we are holding meetings with stakeholders, such as the DPI, to press the issues that are important to our profession.

Dr Zachary Lederhose attended CSU’s Welcome to the Profession Dinner, which was by all accounts an enjoyable evening. Zach was also able to attend the Highlands Branch event in July, which was the perfect combination of socialisation and CPD. We really do encourage Branches to continue to hold these events and connect with their local veterinary community.

Finally, thank you to everyone who completed the AVA Feedback Survey, it will be instrumental in determining the future path of the Association.
