NSW Emergency Animal Disease (EAD) Vet Wrap quarterly newsletter
24 Aug 2023The first edition of the Emergency Animal Disease (EAD) Vet Wrap quarterly newsletter has been published.
This quarterly newsletter aims to keep veterinary professionals up to date with EAD preparedness activities of the Animal Biosecurity unit, NSW Department of Primary Industries and provide updates on what is happening in NSW and on Australia's borders.

• EAD Exclusion Investigation – example of a Lumpy Skin Disease investigation by Central West Local Land Services district veterinarian.
• EAD Hotline – a 24/7 hotline for EAD, notifiable diseases and biosecurity concerns.
• EAD Workshops – providing an overview of the recent free EAD workshops for veterinary practitioners.
• EAD Training and Resources - DPI are currently offering veterinary professionals working in NSW free enrolment in the Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS) Awareness course.
• EAD guide for veterinarians – The EAD guide for veterinarians provides a guide on foot-and-mouth disease, African swine fever, lumpy skin disease, avian influenza and African horse sickness.
