NSW Mobile Animal Care Services Grant – Applications close 11th November

Mobile animal care vehicles play an important role in supporting rural and remote communities of NSW through providing direct access to animal care services during natural disasters and through delivery of community outreach programs.

The Mobile Animal Care Services (MACS) 2022 program aims to:

  • Support the provision of mobile animal welfare assistance to companion animals and livestock during emergency responses when required, to support the NSW Government coordinated response;
  • Support delivery of routine mobile animal care services to companion animals and livestock through regional community outreach;
  • Promote positive animal welfare outcomes.

Funding examples include the following service types and associated fit-out:
Service types:

  • Animal ambulance
  • Animal first aid
  • Portable animal holding and transportation
  • Mobile veterinary treatment services

Fit-out

  • Communications for remote locations
  • Back-up power supply
  • Lighting, heating/cooling and ventilation
  • Refrigeration
  • Secure storage
  • Equipment for capture and handling of animals
  • Portable animal housing
  • Basic diagnostics

The MACS 2022 program is delivered by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and funded as part of the 2022-2023 State Budget. It is anticipated that successful applicants will be notified in December 2022 with projects expected to be able to be commenced in January 2023 and funds be expended by 30 June 2023.
