NT Advocacy update - Dr Robyn Whitaker, Governance and Advocacy Officer
20 Dec 2022I am assisting the AVA NT Division committee to pursue NT Government and other stakeholder engagement in the areas of NT Veterinary student and qualified Veterinary Nurse training and support.
We will share further information on this as it becomes available.
Recently shared to members was the NT Government seeking expressions of interest from anyone who would like to register for EAD preparedness training and activities.
Please visit Veterinary Board of the Northern Territory | Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade for more information or register online at EAD Preparedness expression of interest – NT DITT. And find out more about biosecurity alerts in the Territory at Biosecurity | NT.GOV.AU
The AVA Advocacy Plan for 2023 has now been approved. The plan addresses the wellbeing and sustainability issues that the veterinary profession faces in the key areas of:
- The problem: a historic and ongoing pathway to a reduction in veterinary services and knowledge
- The solution: intervention points to break the pathway to a reduction in veterinary services and knowledge
The framework of the plan recognises that we achieve change in this by increasing veterinary influence in animal industries and government and demonstrating value and evidence to external stakeholders.
Regular updates on National and NT advocacy work can be found here on the AVA website.
