NT Division President's Update

Hi everyone,

it's that time of year again and the quiz night is not far away. Looking forward to catching up with everyone and hoping for another animated evening. Do you have your teams ready to go?

A bit has been happening in the NT AVA space – the CDU Cert 2 in vet nursing is now taking enrolments – we are hoping this will be a start toward addressing the shortage. I would like to encourage all the un qualified nurses to enrol. The success of this course will depend on your support.

We now have a student rep, and some networking initially through social media for our NT vet students. Also looking forward to their first face to face get together later in the year. There is a program for students to do holiday work with the NT Government which has now employed its first Vet student in several years. We are hoping to see more Vet students doing some of their Placements in the NT as well.

There have been some changes in National Structure which mean the NT will Now be looking to form a couple of branches as part of our division – If anyone is interested in being involved let us know.

Finally we are still looking for a President Elect – would love to have one of you volunteer? I am sure there is an amazing NT vet out there who would make a great President!
