Subsidy for Veterinary Student Placements in Northern Australia
09 Jun 2023$3,000 subsidies are now available for veterinary placements in Northern Australia through the Northern Australia Biosecurity Strategy (NABS).
- 4th and 5th year veterinary science students are invited to apply for $3,000 subsidies to complete veterinary course placements in the Northern Australian livestock industry in 2023 and 2024.
- Subsidies will assist students with travel and accommodation costs for undertaking livestock orientated:
- farm placements on pastoral properties,
- clinical extramural placements with veterinary practices or abattoirs, or
- placements with the state Departments of Agriculture.
- There are 40 subsidies available across northern Western Australia (10), the Northern Territory (10) and northern Queensland (20) until December 2024.
- Payment of the subsidy will be made directly to the student on completion of the placement by the state or territory where the placement has been completed.
- Applications must be received by 31st July 2023.
