Meeting with SA Minister for Primary Industries and Resources

Today the AVA met with the South Australian Minister for Primary Industries and Resources to discuss the challenges facing the veterinary workforce.

AVA SA Division President, Dr Adele Feakes, was joined by the AVA CEO (Dr David Andrews) and National Manager for Advocacy & Campaigns (Mr Graham Pratt) in Adelaide to meet with the Minister. The issues discussed included the current veterinary shortage and ways of addressing it both nationally and in South Australia.

The AVA urged the Minister to support its push for education debt forgiveness for graduates working in regional areas. Issues around regional accommodation for veterinary students and graduates was also discussed.
