SA Division President's Report - September 2024

Thank you to everyone who completed the AVA Feedback Survey. The survey is a key initiative for the AVA in 2024 and your insights, particularly around what you would like from state branches, will be especially useful here in SA.

More locally, there has been progression with the Biosecurity Act Amendment and working with Senator Centofanti to progress discussions as well as the opportunity to comment on changes to the dog and cat management act. Our aim is to advocate for veterinarians and their role in the context of this legislation. As updates are available on these topics they will be shared.

The SA committee is also working to bring an event before the end of the year, focusing on an opportunity for Q and A with the VSBSA registrar and the AVA to reflect on 12 months of change, where there is still scope for improvement and get answers about the tricky things we encounter in business.  More information to come very soon.
