AVA Submission to the Victorian Kangaroo Harvest Management Plan 2024-2028

Veterinarian subject matter experts from the AVA’s member body provided comment on the Proposed Wildlife Trade Management Plan: Victorian Kangaroo Harvest Management Plan 2024-2028 for consideration as an approved WTMP under section 303FO of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). Input to assist the Minister included aspects on sustainability, monitoring, quota setting, licensing and welfare. Additional recommendations were made around education and training of kangaroo harvesters, establishing an advisory body as well us undertaking surveys and research.
