AVA Submission of Tasmanian Animal Welfare Amendment Bill 2022

The Tasmanian Government released an Animal Welfare Amendment Bill 2022 for public consultation, which included amendments to seek to support and further strengthen the provisions under the Animal Welfare Act 1993 (the Act) for the enforcement and prosecution of animal welfare offences in Tasmania.

The AVA made this available and requested member consultation from 22 June 2022. A submission was prepared by the AVA Tasmanian Division and a copy of the AVA submission can be downloaded here. The AVA appreciates the opportunity provided by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to contribute to the public consultation process.
