Tasmania Division President Update - October 2023

I would like to acknowledge and pass on my condolences on the passing of Dr Chris Lee from the Kingston Animal Hospital. Chris was an amazing vet who loved our profession and his clients and patients loved him. He will be missed. 

We have held a CPD event in both Hobart and Launceston in September, welcoming Dr Robert Menzies and Prof Paula Larenza (Menzies). They were well received by those that attended and lots of useful tips and tricks were discussed. We are very thankful to have two exceptional speakers visit our beautiful state. 

The Tasmanian committee of the AVA continues to advocate for our profession, meeting with Minister Jo Palmer and her team to discuss the workforce shortage and the financial burdon of public good work (wildlife, strays etc). 

And our sights are being set on the upcoming state conference at the end of October. I encourage you to come along and bring your team for a weekend of learning and networking. I look forward to seeing you all there and discussing all things Tasmanian Vets.
