VIC Together for Wildlife webinar

21 Oct 2022

We are pleased to invite you to attend our next webinar on Wednesday 26th October at 6:30pm as part of the Together for Wildlife series.

Victorian Wildlife Rehabilitation Guidelines

Join us for a preview of the highly anticipated Victorian Wildlife Rehabilitation Guidelines which are due to be released at the end of the year. We will hear about how the guidelines have been developed to incorporate evidenced-based best practice in wildlife care and rehabilitation to equip rehabilitators to deliver positive welfare outcomes for individual animals in their care, from first aid to post-release into the wild.

Building Veterinary Capacity: Zoos Victoria’s Veterinary Outreach Program

We’ll hear about the new program working with general practice veterinary professionals across the State to build vets’ knowledge and skills in assessing and treating native wildlife, ensuring best-possible welfare outcomes. Thank you for your interest in this webinar series, and we hope you can join us here.

Background

Last year, wildlife rehabilitators responded to a survey about the draft Victorian Rehabilitation Guidelines, that they wanted training support and access to information covering a range of topics to improve resilience and decision-making, focussed on managing injured wildlife.

As a result, Zoos Victoria, Australian Veterinary Association, IFAW, RSPCA Victoria, University of Melbourne, Wildlife Victoria, and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning have come together to deliver a live webinar series aimed at sharing information to support best-practice outcomes for wildlife welfare in Victoria.

Please feel free to share this invitation with your networks.
