VIC Victorian Wildlife Rehabilitation Guidelines released

10 Aug 2023

The Victorian Wildlife Rehabilitation Guidelines have been released and are a significant resource to advance the standards of caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife from rescue, transport, monitoring and care through to release. Victoria’s wildlife rescuers, transporters and rehabilitators play an important role rehabilitating sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and their contribution to biodiversity management is highly valued by the Victorian Government and the community.

The guidelines have been developed by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) in partnership with Zoos Victoria and each chapter has been peer-reviewed by experienced wildlife veterinarians and licensed Victorian wildlife rehabilitators with recognised experience and expertise rehabilitating the relevant species.

The guidelines can be found on the DEECA website here Victorian Wildlife Rehabilitation Guidelines.
