Celebrating Connection and Support: AVA Graduate Mentoring Program
31 Jul 2025
This week, final year Murdoch School of Veterinary Medicine students attended an inspiring event to learn how they can be supported through the AVA Graduate Mentoring Program in their transition into the veterinary profession.
Hosted by the WA Division of the AVA, students heard from Dr Katie Kreutz, who outlined the benefits of joining the Graduate Mentoring Program - a national initiative that pairs new graduates with experienced mentors to provide support, guidance, and encouragement during the first year in practice.

The event was made even more valuable by the attendance of mentor Dr Rick Read and his current mentee, Dr Megan Loh, who generously shared their personal experiences with the program. Their insights gave students a powerful and practical look into how mentoring relationships can ease the challenges of entering the workforce and foster both confidence and professional growth.
The AVA is proud to continue supporting the next generation of veterinarians through this important program and extends thanks to all involved in making the Murdoch University event such a success.
