WA Division President Report - February

01 Mar 2023

Dear colleagues,

The year is now in full swing and possibly even busier than ever. It’s exciting to be travelling again. I’ve recently been in Adelaide for an Agri-tech conference (EvokeAg) and I don’t think I heard the word ‘Covid’ mentioned once – incredible!

The AVA has released a calendar of events which features many exciting conferences, workshops and CE opportunities . I encourage you to take a look and enrol in at least one or two. Our profession relies heavily on close professional relationships, so it is important that we now do our best to re-engage with our state and national colleagues. I highly recommended attending the AVA national conference 28th May – 2nd June, and the VBG conference running 13th -15th September in Brisbane.

The AVA WA Division is also pleased to be supporting the 2023 Australian Wildlife Rehabilitation Conference, which will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre between 11th - 13th August. The conference will attract attendees from across Australia and New Zealand and will be a good opportunity to brush up on wildlife skills and build relationships with the rehabilitation community.

We will soon be releasing the schedule of events for WA’s 4 branches, so keep an eye out for these upcoming CE and social opportunities a bit closer to home.

Regards,

Garnett Hall
