WA Government Animal Welfare Grant Program

02 May 2024

Round 4 of the Animal Welfare Grant Program opened on the 15 April 2024, and will close on 13 May 2024.

The grant funding is available to support the welfare of companion animals and wildlife through not-for-profit activities that foster and rehome pets, rehabilitate wildlife, and provide low-cost or free animal health and veterinary services. Recognising the significant role that companion animals and wildlife play in the lives of Western Australians, the popular program offers grants up to $50,000 to eligible organisations. Previous grant recipients have put their funds to good use, including building new enclosures for wildlife rehabilitation, vaccination programs, a shed facility for injured birds of prey and the provision of medical supplies.

Several veterinary care providers have been successful in securing funding in previous grant rounds.

More information and the link to apply for grant funding is available at agric.wa.gov.au/animal-welfare-grant-program or please don’t hesitate to contact animal.welfare@dpird.wa.gov.au.

Dr Katie Kreutz (katiekreutz@ava.vet) is also available to provide insight to the successful application made on behalf of Swan Vets in the 2023 grant round, to assist with funding for wildlife veterinary care.
