The AVA together with Vet Lab @ The Animal Hospital Murdoch University presents an afternoon of Clinical Pathology. Do you need a hand sorting out your microscope? Would you like a refresher on the examination of blood smears?  Would you like to expand your repertoire and improve your confidence on FNA and body fluid cytology?  If so, the AVA and the new Vet Lab at Murdoch Uni are holding a 3hr workshop on improving your in-house haematology and cytology.

Workshop Highlights:

We have room for 15 people to undertake a hands-on workshop, with several short formal presentations and examination of a variety of haematology smears, plus numerous common and more challenging cytology cases and smears.

The workshop will be hosted by Associate Professor Sue Beetson and will include an extensive set of electronic notes. You are also welcome to bring along your microscopes for Sue to have a look at and help sort out any issues.

Testimonial

“We use Dr Sue Beetson’s pathology support services and have found it amazing for our clinic. The most beneficial thing is her support over the phone for in house pathology result and difficult cases that we need up to date advice on, which Sue is always happy to provide. She is also very practical and guides you in the decision making process on difficult cases. We have found it such an amazing support for our new graduates as Sue takes a non-judgemental approach and there are no silly questions!” – Dr Hannah Morcombe, Wheatbelt Vet Service

“Sometimes I don’t know what I don’t know! Dr Beetson has been instrumental in helping me grow as a diagnostician and vet. An opportunity to dig a bit deeper into the areas of clinical pathology I’ve forgotten since vet school, improve my lab techniques like urine cytology, or REALLY starting to get a better understanding of biochemistry values (is that ALP significant?) has made me enjoy my day to day work a lot more.” – Dr Katie Kreutz, Swans Veterinary Service
