World Veterinary Association Councillor Nomination Expression of Interest
02 Feb 2024The World Veterinary Association (WVA) has extended nominations for a Councillor for the Oceania region, which includes Australia. The AVA is seeking Expressions of Interest to be submitted no later than 8.00am Wednesday 7 February.
Nominee eligibility:
- Nominees must be veterinarians.
- Nominees may only be nominated by a constituent member organization in good standing (i.e., no member fees outstanding, 2023 inclusive).
- Nominees must be aligned and committed to the WVA Mission and Strategic Objectives.
Council positions are unpaid (i.e., volunteer) and nominees must have at least 2 hours of time available weekly to dedicate to the WVA and working group activities. Councillors are provided economy return airfare and expenses, by the WVA, to attend the WVA Conference. - Nominees must be advocates for the priorities of the WVA and the veterinary profession.
- Nominees must commit to regularly communicate with WVA Members (in particular those of their region or discipline) and with the WVA Council.
- Nominees must have experience in leading projects and teams in an international environment.
- Nominees must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Nominees shall comply with the requirements of the WVA Code of Conduct and sign the Confidentiality Statement (documents available from Peta Bortfield, email below).
Expressions of Interest must include a CV including a head and shoulders photo, and a written statement including your vision for the WVA, motivation to stand as a candidate and your understanding of the responsibilities of the position.
Please submit applications to Peta Bortfield (peta.bortfield@ava.com.au) no later than 8.00am Wednesday 7 February. No extension is possible due to the WVA timeline. The AVA Board will make a decision shortly after the EOI closes.
