The Veterinary Business Group (VBG) recently conducted an Industry Insights Tour, taking veterinarians, veterinary nurses, business owners and committee members on a behind-the-scenes look at three industry heavyweights.

Attendees were offered a rare chance to tour facilities at Provet, Troy and the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) in Sydney. The aim was to gain deeper understanding of their corporate structures, business models, methods to maximise efficiency, their company cultures and the ‘why’ driving their everyday operations. Delegates took a ‘deep dive’ into what makes a successful business, the take-home being transferrable skills and systems that could be incorporated into any veterinary business model. It also provided attendees the opportunity to learn how these large companies incentivise and motivate their employees (spoiler: it’s not always financial)!
Attendees were also able to catch up over lunch and share stories about their journeys in the veterinary industry.

The Industry Insights Tour was designed to mirror the ever-popular Practice Insights Tour. The plan is to make it an annual event, opening up to different industry locations.
