The 2023 Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians Conference took place 20–22 November at the Novotel Sydney Central. We were delighted to have 95 conference delegates register and over 115 veterinary professionals all under one roof.

This year we hosted three days of high-quality education for veterinarians and vet nurses interested in birds, small mammals and reptiles. The conference was a wonderful opportunity for networking as well as providing current information of diagnostics, therapeutics, surgery and medicine of this group of diverse pets.

We were honoured to welcome back to Australia Dr Todd Driggers, avian and exotic animal specialist from Arizona as our international keynote speaker.

Our convenor Tegan Stephens assembled a fantastic line up of speakers and topics, masterclasses and a dedicated nurse’s stream. A huge thank you to Tegan for delivering a program that covered big issues, basic treatment, case studies and reviews.
