9 - 13 October 2023: Veterinary Nurse and Technician Awareness Week

A successful veterinary practice is the sum of many parts and there aren’t many that can function without the veterinary nurses and technicians who are integral to delivering critical nursing care to animals and educating owners. 

Veterinary Nurse and Technician Awareness Week 2023 kicks off on Monday 9 October and will culminate with the announcement of Vet Nurse and Vet Technician of the year on Friday 13 October. 

The 2023 theme is ‘The future is in your hands’ and will encompass a week of empowerment, education, celebration and camaraderie.  

The AVA will bring you more on veterinary nurses and technicians during the awareness week, with a focus on our support of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia’s advocacy for professional registration for veterinary nurses and technicians to work with these titles under the supervision of registered veterinarians, and regulated veterinarian led teams.
