Annual Modern Award wage review 2023 to 2024

The Fair Work Commission announced in June 2023 its annual wage review decision for the upcoming 2023/2024 financial year.
The Commission has made the decision to increase the minimum rates of pay in modern awards by 5.75%.
The increase to the minimum rates in modern awards applies to the veterinary industry – including the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award 2020 – and commences from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1st July 2023.
To summarise, the annual wage review decision will impact veterinary practices as follows:
- The weekly rates of pay in the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award 2020 will increase by 5.75% from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1st July 2023.
The minimum wage rates for each classification in this award are summarised in the following documents.
