The 9th September 2021 is RUOK Day - a time to check-in with each other. It has been a tough year for everyone, and we are isolated like never before. In this ever-evolving state of change we know that helping each other in the veterinary community across Australia is critical.

RUOK Day encourages people to have a conversation about how you’re doing, and AVA is encouraging everyone in the veterinary profession to do the same.

AVA is running a Better Together Seminar on RUOK Day 9th September at 1pm. During this one hour session, Rosie Overfield and Sue Crampton will discuss and demonstrate some practical approaches that will assist us to:

  • Help manage the impact of change on individuals and our teams
  • Effectively lead and communicate to our teams during change
  • Uplift team morale and build confidence and trust in each other

Find out more here.

We also encourage AVA members to look at the support services as part of VetHealth. There is a free telephone counselling service, HR Advisory resources and other support programs.

The mental wellbeing of vets has never been more important with many issues facing the profession. To find out more about RUOK Day, go to their website.
