"It’s hard to believe we are only one month from the start of the ASAV and VBG conference for 2024 – “Beats, Breaths and Business”! We have an amazing line-up of the highest quality speakers ready to talk to you about cardiothoracic disease, veterinary workplace health and good business strategies in our ever-developing world. And they are going to do this in an amazing, beachfront, holiday location – Twin Waters – Sunshine Coast, Queensland. What more could you want – excellent science, beach walking and whale watching?! A perfect combination.
"On the science front we have internationally respected speakers Dr Chris Lam (cardiology), Dr Phil Brain (thoracic medicine), Dr Luke Johnston (thoracic medicine) and Dr Belinda Hopper (thoracic radiology) providing 4 full days of the latest cardiothoracic material. By the end of the week, you will be fully up to date and have new strategies to diagnose and manage any patient which comes through your practice with coughing, dyspnea, a heart murmur or arrhythmia.
"We also have a focus on veterinary workplace health with some amazing interactive sessions with Dr Cheryl Fry on workplace culture and how key it is to business and personal health and how to manage and use your emotions to deliver better quality leadership and healthcare in your practice. You can read more on what Dr Fry’s has planned for the conference here.
"And if that isn’t enough for you, there is also two full days of business strategy including marketing, client relationship building and business ownership stories and inspiration. It’s hard to imagine there isn’t something for everyone at this conference.
"For those interested in even more skill development during the week, or an extra day to whale watch, we have 2 masterclass sessions on Friday – one on ECG interpretation and one on how to have those difficult conversations which are so much a part of our life but take up so much mental load including: negotiations on salary, work conditions; difficult clients and case situations. That same day if you are more interested in business structure and strategy, we also have a veterinary insights tour.
"Interwoven through all these excellent learning opportunities we have many fun and relaxing activities and social events which allow you to catch up with old mates, meet new friends and connect with industry for those purchases you’ve been planning, or learning about novel developments coming our way in the veterinary space.
"I can’t wait to see you all there for a fun filled week of excellent science, personal skill development and business strategy!"
