Speaker information
Alan Guilfoyle BVSc (UQ 1971) established the Clermont Veterinary Surgery in 1976 after spending four years in dairy practice in his hometown of Beaudesert. His 50 years of experience has seen huge changes to husbandry and grazing practices with major impact on the rural industry. Time has seen Alan develop a keen interest in sustainable profitability of all types of grazing operations with animal welfare playing a major part at all levels to minimise livestock losses and improve reproductive and production performance. This includes the recognition of the impact of subclinical disease and other conditions existing in herds that erode production and profitability.
