Equine Veterinarians Australia Announces 2024 Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures Program

03 May 2024

Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) is pleased to unveil the highly anticipated lineup for the 2024 Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures, scheduled to take place from Sunday 21 to Thursday 25 July at the scenic Rydges Resort Hunter Valley in New South Wales.

Renowned for its world-class equine continuing education program, this year Bain Fallon will feature an unprecedented roster of five international keynote speakers. Among them, experts from the United States, New Zealand and the United Kingdom will deliver insights into crucial areas of equine medicine and surgery.

EVA President Dr Martin Dolinschek is looking forward to an exciting week with the EVA family. “I have been waiting for the launch of the 2024 Bain Fallon since the music died on the dance floor on the Sunshine Coast in July last year. Conference week is the highlight of the year for the EVA, and the executive committee and staff work so hard to make it as memorable as possible. Dr Albert Sole Guitart has been finessing and polishing the program with the help of the education committee for months, as has the team organising the venue, the horses and the equipment for the Ultrasound Workshop. The social program looks amazing! As we get closer and all the pieces fall into place, the excitement really builds for an epic week of learning and making wonderful memories.”

In a new development for 2024, the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) Equine Chapter are bringing their esteemed 'Science Week' Equine Lectures to Bain Fallon. The two-day stream will spotlight subjects such as regenerative medicine, lameness, and the chemistry and medical management of cases.

The Bain Fallon scientific program will cover a diverse range of topics throughout the week. From diagnostic imaging to foal medicine, delegates will have the opportunity to explore the latest advancements and best practices shaping equine veterinary care.

A highlight of the event is the Ultrasound Workshop, led by expert Katie Garrett from the USA. This two-day workshop will provide attendees with invaluable hands-on experience, including a clinical session at the new Scone Equine Hospital. Participants will enhance their practical ultrasound skills, focusing on common areas impacted by musculoskeletal injuries as well as the larynx, equipping them to better serve their clients in clinical practice.
