The AVA is looking for members interested in joining the AVA Awards Committee. The committee will reinvigorate the awards program and undertake a review of the AVA’s national awards, and the introduction of new awards promoting innovation and recognising leadership in the profession.
EOI of up to 100 words and CV are invited from members outlining your interest in the committee and the skills and experience you would bring to the role.

The AVA promotes innovation and recognises leadership through the bestowment of several prizes to those who have contributed significantly to the profession. Individuals are recognised for outstanding dedication, service and achievements in various fields of veterinary science. Read more about the AVA awards.
Our 2023 Award winners:
Gilruth Prize: Associate Professor David Beggs, for his outstanding service to veterinary science in Australia.
President’s Award: Professor Jacqui Norris, for her outstanding practical contribution to veterinary science through her work in academia in Australia.
Kesteven Medal: Dr Roger Clark, for his distinguished contributions to international veterinary science by providing technical and scientific assistance to developing countries.
Fellow: Dr William Howey OAM for his more than 50 years of outstanding service to the Australian Veterinary Association.
