Foot and Mouth outbreak reported in Indonesia

Over 1000 cases of Foot and Mouth Disease  have been confirmed in four provinces  of East Java, Indonesia, but no official declaration has been made as of yet. This is of great concern to Australia and the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment (DAWE) is engaged with Indonesia and establishing the assistance that Australia and other global and regional organisations can offer to support a swift and effective response.

When further information is received from DAWE we will pass this onto the profession.
