AVA Policy Advisory Council: Draft Policies for Member Comment

As an AVA member you have the opportunity to help shape AVA policies - these have far-reaching influence on the profession, and underpin AVA’s advocacy work.

The following policies were drafted by members of Policy Advisory Council (PAC), and voted at their December 2024 Decision Point to progress to member comment:

• Use of electroimmobilisation on animals (update)
• Medication of dogs and cats for air transport (update)
• Aftercare of horses transitioning from racing (new)
• Exotic pet and wildlife trade (new)
• Forced Swim Test and Forced Smoke Inhalation Experiments (new)
