Consultation - NSW 2023 State Election Platform

The AVA is encouraging NSW AVA members to assist in producing an AVA NSW State Election platform that will reflect our requirements and the issues facing NSW veterinarians.

The AVA 2023 NSW State Election Platform will form the basis for advocacy leading into the March 2023 election and meeting with the key Ministers, Shadow Ministers, and MPs.

The AVA NSW Division Committee have identified the following priorities to address in the NSW 2023 Election and welcomes NSW AVA Members input on what else could be included:

• Biosecurity
• Rural and regional workforce issues
• Workforce sustainability
• Improving standards for minimising the breeding of genetic defects
• Animal Welfare Bill
• Addressing the mental health crisis in the veterinary profession
• Regulatory reform
• Councils and pounds
