EOIs to join World Veterinary Association committees and working groups

28 Jun 2024

The AVA is a proud and active member of the World Veterinary Association (WVA), a global organisation comprised of national veterinary associations. The WVA provides international leadership for the veterinary profession, promoting animal health, welfare, and public health through advocacy, education, and partnerships. By utilising a diverse network of scientific experts from across the globe, the WVA advances its mission and brings together veterinarians from around the world to contribute to its important work.

Currently, Dr. Mark Schipp serves on the governing Council, and we are excited to share that nominations are open for veterinarians to join a variety of WVA committees and working groups. Please share this with your networks and encourage members who you think would be good in these roles to forward an expression of interest. The committees and working groups are:

  • Policy Committee
  • World Veterinary Association Congress Standing Committee
  • Animal Welfare Working Group
  • One Health Working Group
  • Veterinary Education Working Group
  • Pharmaceutical Stewardship Working Group

Terms of reference for these are attached:

The Policy Committee assists in getting global alignment of key matters and to provide support for members wishing to elevate critical issues in the countries. It plays a key role in reviewing and developing draft policies for the consideration of the WVA Council.

The working groups focus on key strategic priorities of the WVA. Details of these and their objectives can be found online here.
