Have Your Say: Tasmania dog welfare regulations reform

The Tasmanian Government are reviewing the laws that regulate and control dogs in Tasmania. The review ensures contemporary and enforceable welfare outcomes for dogs in Tasmania.

The review is in response to: 

  • public concern about puppy farms 
  • feedback from animal welfare officers about the current legislation

Proposed changes will affect the Dog Control Act 2000, Animal Welfare (Dogs) Regulations 2016, and Guidelines.

The AVA will be providing a submission and invite members to be involved.
