The countdown is on to the 2025 Australian Cattle Vet (ACV) / Veterinary Business Group (VBG) Conference, with registrations now open.

Taking place 24-26 March 2025 at the Newcastle Exhibition & Convention Centre (NEX), located in the harbour city precinct, the event promises to be a dynamic gathering of over 150 veterinary professionals, all focused on advancing both cattle health and business success.

Whether it’s to enhance your veterinary skills or grow your business acumen, this conference is designed to equip you with the tools and knowledge you need to thrive in both practice and enterprise.

“The uniqueness about our 2025 conference is our partnership with the Veterinary Business Group, this is the first time we have partnered with this Special Interest Group (SIG) and we look forward to putting a business flare to our program,” ACV Executive Officer Ian McDonald said.

The collaboration between ACV and VBG brings together a diverse wealth of knowledge, fostering cross-disciplinary learning that benefits both clinical and business-focused veterinarians.

“By integrating expertise, we can address the full spectrum of challenges veterinarians face,” VBG Executive Officer Erin Denny added.

“From optimising animal health outcomes to running successful, sustainable practices, this partnership ensures a comprehensive conference experience that equips delegates with the tools and insights needed to thrive professionally.”

In 2025, delegates can look forward to a fresh approach that reflects the conference theme, Sustainable Practices, Sustainable Business: Learning for the Future. Key highlights include interactive workshops designed to bridge clinical expertise with innovative business strategies, sessions on cutting-edge research in cattle health and discussions on sustainability in veterinary practice.

"Our focus has been on curating a lineup of expert speakers, practical workshops, and networking opportunities that cater to the unique challenges and goals of veterinary professionals. We’re on track to deliver an event that’s as engaging as it is educational,” Erin Denny said.

The conference features an appealing and informative program. Hear from vet, former Australian of the Year and Thai cave rescue diver Dr Craig Challen on resilience, US Government vet Dr Liz Cox, and internationally renowned dairy lameness expert, Dr Neil Chesterton.

The scientific program includes presentations on the latest advancements on controlling H5N1 in dairy cattle in the US, parasite management, dairy lameness, field necropsy and so much more.
