Sydney hosts incredible week at the 2025 AVA Conference
15 May 2025The 2025 AVA Conference wraps up today after a vibrant week at the ICC Sydney, attracting hundreds of veterinary professionals from Australia and abroad. The event began with the THRIVE Veterinary Wellness Symposium and Research Day, followed by 3 days of bustling trade exhibition and over 120 scientific sessions.
Delegates enjoyed expert-led scientific sessions daily, including the Gilruth Oration by Dr Peter Reid, Kendall Oration by Dr Sarah Webb, and a lively panel on artificial intelligence in veterinary care. Dr Duncan Lascelles’ osteoarthritis sessions, Dr Greg Ogilvie’s oncology talks, and Dr Crystal Loh’s dental expertise standing-room-only crowds. Mark McKeon inspired attendees with his ‘Go Zone’ productivity strategy.
Networking events such as alumni reunions, special interest group meetings, and a harbour cruise added to the experience. Thursday 15 May featured the highly anticipated Ben Cunneen Memorial Plenary, with Dr Kendall Crocker sharing stories of veterinary work from war zones to global One Health initiatives.
The 2025 AVA Conference once again cemented its place as Australia’s premier veterinary event, blending science, professional development, and community.
