The 2024 AVA Awards are now open for nominations
01 Dec 2023The AVA Awards are a showcase of veterinary achievement, innovation, dedication and service. They represent the pinnacle of excellence for the Australian veterinary profession.
They are also a signal to our emerging practitioners, future leaders, innovators, scientists and researchers that excellence and dedication is valued, recognised and rewarded.
To ensure we identify and celebrate our colleagues whose achievements and service drive our industry forward, we need your help. This is a great opportunity to nominate your peers, mentors and colleagues who have contributed so much to the profession.
From today until 16 February 2024, you can submit nominations for awards across six categories:
The Gilruth Prize – for outstanding service to veterinary science
The Kesteven Medal – for significant and pioneering contribution to international veterinary science
Fellow – for exemplary contribution to the Association and the veterinary profession
Honorary Membership – for services to the AVA or to the veterinary profession as a whole
Meritorious Service Award – for outstanding service to the Association, its Divisions, Branches or Special Interest Groups
Kendall Oration – for significant career contribution to the advancement of veterinary science and/or the profession.
The AVA Awards will be presented in May 2024, at the AVA Gala Dinner to be held during the AVA Conference in Melbourne. It is a wonderful opportunity for the veterinary profession to come together and celebrate those who have truly excelled in their chosen field.
We encourage you to review the selection criteria for each award and submit your nominations by 16 February 2024.
