UPAV Conference 2024

Over 120 veterinary professionals gathered in Canberra for the highly anticipated annual UPAV Conference offering 3 days of high-quality education for veterinarians and vet nurses specialising in the care of birds, small mammals and reptiles.

The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for attendees to stay updated on the latest advancements in diagnostics, therapeutics, surgery and medicine tailored specifically to these diverse and fascinating pets. The event not only focused on cutting-edge research and techniques but also provided a platform for professionals to network, share experiences and collaborate with peers from across the industry.

Dr Robert Johnson (Past AVA president and UPAV committee member), Dr Doug Mader, Dr Susan Beths (Current UPAV President) and Dr Geraldine Diethelm-Mader

One of the highlights of this year's conference was the presence of Dr Doug Mader, our esteemed International Keynote speaker. We were both excited and honoured to welcome Dr Mader to Canberra, where he shared his extensive expertise on exotic pet care. His presentations were insightful, inspiring and provided a fresh perspective on the management and treatment of species within this unique field.

The UPAV Conference continues to serve as an essential gathering for those committed to advancing their knowledge in the care of non-traditional pets. As always, the event fostered a spirit of community and learning, ensuring that all attendees left with new insights and practical skills they could immediately apply in their practices.
