05 Mar 2024Research is being conducted to understand and measure what is being provided free, low cost or discounted by the Australian veterinary profession and why.

The survey will take 20 minutes to 1 hour, is anonymous, voluntary and requests data and comments from veterinarians and veterinary workplaces.
If you need a break, you can return to your answers by using the same computer and browser.
Main areas considered are:
- Wildlife
- Stray
- Lost
- Feral and pest animals
- Large-scale disaster response
- After hours
- Clinical areas such as desexing and vaccination
- Biosecurity
- Identification
- Euthanasia
- Discounting for hardship or vulnerability
- Affordability and compliance
- Education and training veterinary or para-veterinary students
- Non-clinical areas: ethics, committees and boards
- Providing information
- Other veterinary and community service
- And, the costs incurred to provide it.
The survey is a collaborative area of research by the University of Melbourne and the Australian Veterinary Association and forms part of PhD research (Human Ethics ID: 26670).
