This week AVA President Dr Bronwyn Orr, Head of Veterinary and Public Affairs, Dr Cristy Secombe and National Manager of Advocacy, Mr Graham Pratt met with the Minister of Agriculture's advisors.

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), of which the AVA is a member, has released a Return to Work communication guide for supervisors and small and medium businesses.

Under the Victorian Emergency Animal Welfare Plan (established on recommendation of the Royal Commission of the Black Saturday Bushfires), the AVA is responsible for maintaining a database of veterinary volunteers for the purpose of supplying volunteers to government agencies if the need arises for assistance with bushfires or other animal emergencies.

From the 1st November 2022, the supply of plastic single use cotton buds and bowls is banned in NSW. Exemptions apply for scientific and medical purposes including veterinary medicine or at veterinary practices.
