Dr Bronwyn Orr has been elected AVA President, and Dr Alistair Webb AVA Vice President.

The Queensland Veterinary Surgeons Board are consulting with the profession on a new draft Code of Professional Conduct. The AVA made this formal submission.

Ahead of the 2022 AVA Annual Conference, which kicks off this Sunday 22 May, the AVA's new CEO David Andrews wishes to share this message.

The newly launched scholarship for Veterinary Research in Companion Animal Disease is now open to veterinary students until August 31 2022.

The successful treatment of canine otitis externa has traditionally relied on good owner compliance, requiring multi-dose administration of medication at home. Neptra’s single dose is administered by the vet, meaning that any uncertainty around owner compliance when treating otitis externa, is eliminated.

The AVA is undertaking a review and updating the 2017 AVA Recommended key principles for veterinary practice acts in Australia.

Nominations are open for the Australian Small Animal Veterinarians (ASAV) Awards. Also, students are invited to apply for the ASAV Student Scholarship which grants free entry to the ASAV Conference in Darwin in July.
